I understand this is on me for "trusting big G." Even after I've de-Googled my life as much as I could, I wanted to give their Antigravity CLI offering a shot.
So I made a new account using my own domain and subscribed to Google One using my credit card. Even after getting access to Google One, I was not allowed to use Antigravity due to "verification purposes." After a very hostile verification process and adding a brand-new `@gmail.com` address to this same account, I could finally use Antigravity.
After the 3 months at a discount ended, I decided I didn't like Antigravity's capabilities, so I canceled my Google One subscription, deleted everything, and didn't think about it anymore. But I've just been charged for it! I logged back in, and the subscription doesn't show as active.
However, I did have PayPal as my payment method, which I added after adding the `@gmail.com` address. This method was NOT the one used to charge my credit card, though. I still removed it for safety.
So my theory is that I successfully created my account and subscription (with my personal domain), and this is the subscription that stays active. But once I added the Gmail address, they didn't fully migrate my subscription, so it's a "zombie" subscription.
I've tried to log in with my personal domain email, but they say the account doesn't exist.
I've also tried to contact support, but since I'm not a "paying subscriber" anymore (even though they're charging me), I can't get in touch with a real person.
How could I fix this? I know the easiest action would be to request a chargeback through my bank, but I've read a lot of horror stories about getting "nuked" by Google if that ever happens. Even though I barely use Google anymore, I do have a very old account with them that I probably can't migrate away from.
Thank you!
