Farmers market vendor applications usually ask for photos of your stall and your products, and many market portals only accept JPG uploads. iPhones save photos as HEIC by default, so a perfectly good photo of your produce, baked goods, or crafts can be refused with a vague "invalid file type" message — often right before the application deadline.

  1. Keep the HEIC originals
Do not overwrite your originals. Convert a copy for the application and keep the HEIC masters, in case the market later asks for a higher-quality photo for its vendor directory or social media.

  2. Do not just rename the file to .jpg
Renaming changes the extension, not the contents. The file will still be HEIC data, and the portal will still reject it.

  3. Convert a copy to JPG for the application
If you need JPGs quickly, you can convert HEIC photos to JPG for farmers market vendor applications entirely in the browser: the conversion happens on your own device, nothing is uploaded, and no account is needed. Then check each JPG preview before submitting — confirm the product looks appetizing, the photo is the right way up, and no price tag or hand is accidentally covering the item.

  4. A quick pre-submit checklist

  5. One clear photo of your stall setup, if the market asks for it.

  6. One close-up photo per product category you plan to sell.

  7. File names that match the product, so reviewers can tell them apart.
