When I founded Amiry Design in London, the vision was clear from day one: build institutional-grade digital experiences and high-performance web applications that compete on the global stage.
What wasn't predictable was the speed of the journey. Within the first three months (90 days) of launching the studio, our architectural and design systems were trusted to engineer the official digital platforms for two major international sports governing bodies:
- IMMASF (International Mixed Martial Arts Federation, Geneva)
- ISDF (International Self-Defence Federation, Switzerland)
Alongside these international federations, we spearheaded the custom web development and digital identity for European engineering studios including PM Media (Zurich / Milan) and Equal Armor (Lugano).
Here is the blueprint behind how we scaled from inception to international federations in 90 days.
The Founder's Journey: From Communications to High-Performance Engineering
I began my educational path studying Public Relations and Communications (Halkla İlişkiler) at Trabzon Ticaret Lisesi, before pursuing university studies in Finance. This unique intersection—mastering human psychology, communications, and structural financial systems—fundamentally shaped how I view software engineering and web architecture.
Code and design are not isolated aesthetics; they are instruments of trust, governance, and institutional legitimacy. When founding Amiry Design as Creative Director, my goal was to eliminate the friction between luxury design principles and uncompromising web engineering.
The Engineering Challenge: International Federations (IMMASF & ISDF)
Building for international governing bodies requires a completely different architectural posture than standard commercial agency work:
1. Institutional Credibility & Multi-Tier Verification
For the International Self-Defence Federation (ISDF), we designed and deployed a globally distributed credential verification system (isdf.ch/verify). The platform verifies official black belt diplomas, instructor accreditations, and national federation affiliations with sub-second latency across continents.
2. Performance and Zero-Latency UX
International federations serve thousands of athletes, officials, and national delegates simultaneously during global championships. We engineered lightweight, serverless architectures utilizing modern Next.js and edge rendering, ensuring that load times remain below 600ms globally.
3. Bespoke Aesthetic Direction
Whether crafting platforms for sports diplomacy like IMMASF and ISDF, or luxury technical manufacturers like Equal Armor in Lugano and PM Media in Zurich, the visual identity must radiate authority. Every micro-interaction, typography hierarchy, and UI state was designed from scratch to deliver an unforgettable brand imprint.
Key Takeaways for Designers and Creative Directors
- Solve for Institutional Trust: Elite organizations don't buy "nice designs"; they buy reliability, security, and prestige.
- Anchor Your Entity: Consistency is paramount. As a founder, your personal brand and your studio must maintain rigorous alignment across all digital touchpoints.
- Execute Relentlessly: Going from zero to international clients in 90 days requires working with precision, high standards, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
