A shopper wants 250 tote bags with a logo. The product page shows a price for one bag and an Add to Cart button. That is not the question the shopper has. Wix Stores has no Request a quote button of its own, as far as I could find. Below is what Wix gives you, where it stops, and an app that adds the button and turns the request into a paid order.

Does Wix Stores have a Request a quote button?

Not that I could find in Wix's help. The store product page has Add to Cart and Buy Now, and you can choose which elements to show. A quote button is not on that list. Wix changes its products often, so check the current help pages before you rely on this.

Wix does give you two parts you can join by hand.

Option 1: a Wix form on the product page

Wix Forms lets you build a form and collect submissions in your dashboard. Wix's help page Wix Forms: An Overview says each submission is tracked in your dashboard and you get a notification when someone sends one.

You can put a "Request a quote" form on a page, or add a button that links to it. Then you reply by email.

Limits:

  • The form is not tied to a product. The shopper types the product name, the option and the quantity, or you add a hidden field by hand.
  • You read each submission and copy the details across yourself.

Option 2: Price Quotes in the dashboard

Wix also has Price Quotes. Wix's help covers them in Wix Price Quotes: Converting Price Quotes into Invoices and, for Wix Studio, Wix Studio: Creating and Managing Price Quotes. In the classic dashboard they sit under Getting Paid, in Price Quotes. You create the quote yourself, add the lines and prices, and send it. An accepted quote can be converted to an invoice, by hand or, if you turn it on, automatically.

This works well for a few quotes a month. The limits:

  • You type every line in again from the form.
  • The result is an invoice. It is not a Wix Stores order. At the time of writing, Wix's help does not say that stock or store reports are involved.

Option 3: an app that does the whole flow

An app can add the button, keep the product, option and quantity with each request, and let you price it from one screen.

Full disclosure: Kayabyte makes Request a Quote & Pay Online, so I describe it in more detail than the other options. There are other quote apps in the Wix App Market, and some of them are good for simple cases. If you only need a request form, a Wix form may be enough.

How ours works:

  1. Install it from the Wix App Market on a site with Wix Stores.
  2. A Request a quote button appears on the product page, under the product details. Publish your site.
  3. The shopper clicks it. The product, the chosen option and the quantity go into a quote list kept in their browser. They can add more products, then send the list with a name, email and optional phone, company and message.
  4. In your dashboard, open Quote requests. Set your price per unit for each line, change quantities or remove lines, add a note, and choose how long the quote is valid (14 days by default).
  5. Click Send quote. The buyer gets an email with a View quote button.
  6. The quote page shows the lines, prices and total. The buyer can print or save it as PDF, and click Pay now. That opens your own store checkout with the real products at your quoted prices.

Worked example: a promotional products shop

A shop sells tote bags with a printed logo. The product has two options: natural cotton and black cotton. A café owner wants 250 bags with her logo: 150 natural and 100 black.

  1. On the tote bag product page she clicks Request a quote twice, once per option, and sets the quantities to 150 and 100. She sends the request with her name, email, company and a message: "Logo is a one-colour PDF, delivery by 20 December."
  2. In Quote requests, the shop sees two lines with the option, SKU and store price. The store price is for a single bag, so the shop sets its own prices: $2.80 per natural bag and $3.10 per black bag.
  3. The total is 150 x $2.80 = $420.00, plus 100 x $3.10 = $310.00, so $730.00. The shop adds a note about the logo proof and sends the quote.
  4. The café owner opens the quote, checks it and clicks Pay now. At checkout she sees the two products at $2.80 and $3.10. Shipping and tax are worked out by the store as usual.
  5. When she pays, the request shows as Paid with the order number.

Because the real products are in the cart, stock tracking and reports keep working.

Plans

The Free plan has 10 quote requests a month and your own price for each line. Pro has unlimited requests, quote-only products, your logo and terms on quotes, and a reminder email 2 days before a quote expires. It costs $9.99 per month, or $7.99 per month billed yearly, with a 14-day free trial. Billed by Wix.

FAQ

Does the shopper need an account?
No. They get a link by email and pay at your checkout like any other order.

Can a shopper request several products at once?
Yes. Each click adds a product to a list, and the list is sent as one request.

Can the buyer change the price at checkout?
No. The quoted prices are set by our service when the cart is created, and coupons cannot lower a quoted price.

Does it work with product options?
Yes. The chosen option is saved with the line and goes into the cart.
