KDE has released Plasma 6.7.6, the sixth maintenance update for the 6.7 series, bringing key stability fixes to KWin, Wayland input handling, screen recording crashes, and remote desktop authentication with FreeRDP 3.32.

The main fixes

The changes mainly concern KWin, the program that manages windows and the display. The update fixes sudden shutdowns that affected screen recording and screenshot taking.

Additionally, it fixes how the system handles key repetition on the keyboard and addresses various issues with the cursor and data entry. It also prevents the application switching menu from closing unexpectedly when the keyboard focus changes.

Another issue fixed is the lock screen, which sometimes wouldn't display properly when the Never Require a Passcode setting was enabled. The power manager now correctly handles situations where screens remain dark after losing brightness control, and devices that don't recognize battery percentage no longer trigger false low battery warnings.

Connections and applets

For the remote desktop feature, an authentication issue has been fixed. Changes have also been made to applets, such as the weather tool which no longer stops working when certain forecast files are missing, and the comics tool which avoids an endless reload cycle.
