Extension Manager 0.7.0 brings GNOME Search integration, bulk uninstallation options, improved error dialogs, and Glycin-based animated GIF rendering for extension screenshots.

New features and better management

The update brings several improvements to the user experience. The application now includes a built-in search mode, allowing users to find and open the settings of installed add-ons directly from the activity overview.

Add-on details pages now display the version number and support information. Installed add-ons now have an uninstall button and their location is indicated with an option to open them directly in the file manager. A multi-select function has also been added to mass uninstall add-ons from the relevant list, while in case of an error during activation, a new window with the details is now displayed.

Visual improvements and search preferences

The app now uses Glycin to display animated GIFs that demonstrate the functionality of certain plugins.

In search results, the application defaults to displaying only plugins that support the current version of the environment, while there is an option to view all results. In addition, code has been added that will allow the display of creators' pages with their remaining works in the future, although this feature is not yet available.

Installation method

The new version is available to install from Flathub and is based on the GNOME 51 runtime. Users using the older version from the Ubuntu repositories will need to switch to Flathub or wait for the release of Ubuntu 27.04 to get the changes.
