When I first started learning JavaScript, I thought its main purpose was simply adding interactivity to websites.

A button gets clicked. A menu opens. A message appears.

But JavaScript is much more than that.

It allows us to build logic, handle data, communicate with APIs, and create applications that respond to user actions.

Let's look at a simple example.

1. A small piece of logic

const user = { name: "Developer", skills: ["HTML", "CSS", "JavaScript"] }; function introduce(person) { return `Hello, I'm a ${person.name}!`; } console.log(introduce(user));

This example is simple, but it demonstrates something important: JavaScript allows us to work with data and build reusable logic.

2. Making the page interactive

const button = document.querySelector("#myButton"); button.addEventListener("click", () => { document.body.classList.toggle("dark-mode"); });

With just a few lines of code, we can create an interaction that changes the entire page's appearance.

3. Where does AI fit into this?

AI tools can help developers:

  • Understand unfamiliar code.
  • Find potential errors.
  • Generate alternative solutions.
  • Explain complicated programming concepts.
  • Improve development workflows.

However, there is one important thing I keep in mind:

Never copy code without understanding what it does.

AI can generate code in seconds, but understanding that code is what helps us become better developers.

I'm still exploring, learning, experimenting, and discovering new possibilities in web development.

And honestly, that's one of the most exciting parts of this journey.

My question to other developers:

Do you prefer writing code from scratch, or using AI as your development assistant?

Let's discuss!
