In 2023 I retired. I had never used a computer. Not even once.

I could read a little English, but I could not speak it. What I did have was curiosity. I have been watching the crypto market since 2020, without much money to invest, but always wanting to understand how it works.

Step 1: Learning to use a computer

After retirement I joined a basic computer course (MS-CIT). Typing, files, the internet. Everything was new. I was slow, but I loved it.

Then I took a security job. When that job suddenly ended, I was at home with a lot of time and one question:

Can someone like me build something real?

I decided to try. Not because I was sure I could do it, but because I wanted to find out.

Step 2: Building with AI, one step at a time

I started building Tazvera, a simple self-custody crypto wallet in Hindi and English, on the Shardeum network.

I did not learn to code first. Instead I worked with AI like a patient teacher:

  • I explained what I wanted, in Hindi.
  • The AI explained the plan in simple words.
  • Only when I said "yes" did it write the code.
  • I uploaded the files to GitHub and tested everything on my phone.
  • When something broke, I sent screenshots and we fixed it together.

Many days I could only send a few messages. So every answer had to be complete, step by step. Slowly, the app grew.

What Tazvera can do today

  • Create a wallet in the app (keys stay on your phone, locked by your PIN)
  • Send, receive and request payments with QR codes
  • Shield: warns you before you send to a look-alike scam address
  • Verified badges for official coins and a warning for unknown tokens
  • Scam alerts inside the app
  • An AI assistant that answers in your own language
  • Hindi and English, light and dark mode

The wallet also has its own token, TZV: fixed supply, no owner, no minting, and 45% locked in three verified lock contracts. It is not for sale; it is given as rewards.

Everything is open source (MIT). Every change is checked automatically by free tools: CodeQL, Slither, Dependabot and OpenSSF Scorecard.

What I learned

  1. Being honest is a strength. When the Shardeum team called me, I told them the truth: I built this with AI. They appreciated it.
  2. Small steps are enough. One file, one fix, one screenshot at a time.
  3. Safety first. In crypto, one mistake can cost real money. So I always test first and read before I press "Confirm".
  4. AI does not replace you. The idea, the decisions and the responsibility are still yours. AI is the tool.

If you are where I was

If you think you are too old, or you don't know English, or you have never written code: start anyway. Ask questions. Break things. Fix them. Keep going.

I am still learning every day.
