Waddup gangsters.
I was browsing reddit, and I saw anthropic add a rule to claude code preventing people from making their own games. Users don't even have an option to turn that off. It's nuts if you ask me. You should be able to control 100% of what get's sent to the LLM. I also didn't like the slow and bloated harnesses written in typescript, so I decided to build a better claude code. For the past 6 months, I've been working on it and making it better, to the point where it absolutely smokes cc out the gate, here's why:
1. Written Rust. (so all the good stuff that comes with it)
2. 7ms to attach to a running daemon (yes, milli seconds)
3. 40 ms to start a daemon
4. Extensions, Plugins, Skills, Subagents, MCP (Yep, the whole cake and more)
5. 99%+ median cache hitrate (numbers in repo)
6. Heavily customisable: https://github.com/HaseebKhalid1507/synaps-overclocked
7. Works with local AI or any subscription/ API key
8. Sessions live in the daemon and survive reboots
9. A session can have multiple clients. (ur browser, terminal, ur phone)
10. number of synaps sessions to memory: 1 - 36MB, 10 - 73MB, 20 - 117MB, 200 - 890MB, 500 - 2.27GB
A bunch of sleepless nights have gone into the creation of this project. It'd mean a lot to me if y'all could test drive it for a bit and share your feedback. (positive or negative)
