Building a two-sided marketplace means solving more than just the frontend. Buyers need a way to request services, providers need onboarding, and administrators need a way to manage the workflow.
If you are evaluating a starter kit for a marketplace MVP, here are five practical questions to ask:
1. Can you actually edit the source code?
A starter kit should give developers room to change the business model, UI, validation, and data flows. Check the framework versions and project structure before purchasing.
2. Where does the backend run?
For an edge-native application, confirm how API routes are implemented, where data lives, and how deployment is configured. A Cloudflare Workers API with a D1 schema is one possible foundation.
3. What marketplace workflows are already represented?
Look for concrete flows such as buyer quote requests, provider registration, provider approval, and lead assignment. A demo landing page alone is not a marketplace backend.
4. What is not included?
This matters as much as the feature list. Ask whether payments, automatic matching, dashboards, and production operations are built or still require development. Budget time accordingly.
5. Is there enough documentation to customize and deploy?
A README and a clear schema can save time, but developers should still review security, authentication, database migrations, testing, and production readiness for their own use case.
An example I'm offering
Through Launch & Grow Hub, I offer the Edge-Native Full-Stack React 19 Starter Kit ($149), an editable source-code starting point for developers. It includes a React 19 / TypeScript / Vite frontend, Cloudflare Workers API, Cloudflare D1 schema, buyer quote requests, provider registration and approval, exclusive lead assignment logic, protected admin API endpoints, and setup documentation.
It is not a turnkey SaaS. Integrated payments, automated matching, paid credits, and a visual admin dashboard are not included; implementation and customization are the buyer's responsibility.
