When narrative content drives a physical actuator, three interrupt paths look like "just restore state" until they are not: a system Photos / Camera / document picker mid-session, a StoreKit / in-app purchase / subscription-manage sheet, and a System Translate / Look Up / Live Text overlay. Each needs a default that fails closed — toward idle, toward re-arm only after a named beat, toward interrupt-clear ≠ motor authority.

on photos_camera_or_document_picker_opened(): ramp_to(IDLE, at=next_beat_boundary) armed = false on picker_dismissed(): # selection UI gone ≠ motor envelope restored await user_resume(); await next_named_beat(); arm() on storekit_iap_or_subscription_sheet_opened(): ramp_to(IDLE, at=next_beat_boundary) armed = false on store_sheet_dismissed_or_completed(): # store UI cleared ≠ motor authority await user_resume(); await next_named_beat(); arm() on translate_lookup_or_livetext_opened(): ramp_to(IDLE, at=next_beat_boundary) armed = false on text_overlay_dismissed(): # text UI gone ≠ previous intensity restored await user_resume(); await next_named_beat(); arm()

The Photos / document picker rule is easy to mix up with outbound Share Sheet, Autofill / Passkeys, and AirDrop receive. Share Sheet is outbound sharing. Autofill is credentials. AirDrop is a receive path. Photos / Camera / document picker is a media-or-files chooser. Dismissing it clears that chooser; it must not restore motor authority.

The StoreKit rule sits next to — but is not — Wallet / Pay / NFC, Autofill / Passkeys, or a controlling-app update relaunch. Wallet is a pay surface. Autofill is credentials. App update is a relaunch after install. StoreKit is a commerce sheet. Dismiss / complete only clears that sheet; it must not restore motor authority.

The Translate / Look Up / Live Text rule is a system text overlay, not Accessibility Zoom / VoiceOver, not an in-app narration/subtitle language toggle, and not a single screenshot. Zoom / VoiceOver is accessibility. Language toggle is display text. Screenshot is a capture event. Translate / Look Up / Live Text is a text-understanding overlay. Dismiss only clears that overlay; it must not restore motor authority.

Buyers can test all three without code: open a Photos or Files picker mid-session and see whether closing it restarts intensity, trigger a StoreKit sheet then cancel, and open Translate / Look Up then dismiss. These map to questions like "how do AI stories control physical devices" and "Lovense alternative with AI stories."
