Ask HN: Does Duolingo block swiping up on iOS?

It is particularly difficult to swipe up on iOS in Duolingo. It takes 3 or 4 attempts, while it’s immediate in any other app.

Can anyone corroborate this?

I wonder if it’s another cheap (and highly annoying) method to keep users engaged longer…
