You can make AI videos on your iPhone with Off Grid AI Mobile (OGAM). Type "Create a video of a paper boat on a pond" into a chat and a clip comes back. It renders with the open Wan models on your iPhone's GPU or on your own computer, so there are no credits to buy and no upload.
Video is part of Off Grid AI Pro. One Pro purchase covers your iPhone and your computer.

A clip made on an iPhone, playing in the chat where it was asked for.
Why make video on your iPhone
Cloud video apps sell credits. A few retries can use up a month of them, and every prompt and photo sits on their servers.
With OGAM the model is a one-time download. A retry costs nothing but time. The clip lands in your chat and your Gallery, and it never passes through anyone else's server.
What you need
- An iPhone with 12 GB of memory to render on the iPhone, such as the iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone 17 Pro Max. OGAM runs the video model on the iPhone's GPU with Metal.
- Or any iPhone plus your own computer. Other iPhones pair with Off Grid AI Desktop (OGAD) on your Mac or PC, and the computer renders the clip.
- Off Grid AI Pro. $79.99 once (regular $119) or $7.99 a month, for up to 5 devices.
- About 8 GB of free storage for Wan 2.2 Turbo, and Wi-Fi for that one download.
The video models your iPhone can run
OGAM's Video tab lists only the models your iPhone can run. On a 12 GB iPhone that is:
| Model | Makes | Download |
|---|---|---|
| Wan 2.2 (5B), Turbo | Clips from a description or a photo, in the fewest steps | About 8.21 GB |
| Wan 2.1 (1.3B), Light | Clips from a description | About 4.75 GB |
{: .vs-table}
Start with Wan 2.2 (5B), Turbo. It needs the fewest steps, it can start from your own photo, and OGAM picks it first when both are installed.
Make your first clip
- Install OGAM from the App Store and turn on Pro.
- Open Models, then the Video tab. Download Wan 2.2 (5B), Turbo. The total includes every file the model needs.
- Open a chat and type Create a video of followed by your scene. "Create a video of a paper boat drifting on a still pond at sunset" works better than "a boat". Name the subject, the motion and the light.
- Pick a style from the row above the message box if you want one: Cinematic, Nature, Animation, Product shot, Vintage film or Talking head. The chat remembers your pick.
- Send it. Keep OGAM open while the clip renders. Leaving the app stops the video.
You do not flip any switch for video. The words "Create a video of" are enough.
The finished clip plays in the chat. Tap full screen, or pop it out in picture in picture and keep chatting. Press Restyle to make the same clip in another style, or Extend to keep the shot going. Every clip is also in the Gallery, where you can play, save or delete it.
Tune the clip
Open the chat's settings and find Video generation:
- Use recommended settings puts back the size and steps that fit your iPhone.
- Steps trade time for sharpness. Frames set the clip length.
- Negative prompt lists what to avoid, such as "blurry, text, watermark".
- Seed repeats a clip you liked. Leave it blank for a new one each time.
A clip takes minutes, not seconds. The paper boat above took 12 minutes 58 seconds. Plug the iPhone in, start a clip, and come back to it.
Make sharper videos with your computer
A Mac or PC renders faster and at full size. OGAM can hand it the job.
- Install Off Grid AI Desktop on your Mac or Windows PC and turn on Pro there with the same key.
- On the computer, download a video model in Models.
- On the computer, open Devices and select Show QR Code.
- On the iPhone, open Settings > Sync and use Scan pairing QR code.
When your iPhone has no video model of its own, OGAM sends clips to the paired computer. For films and for Animate this photo, you choose On this phone or On your Mac each time. The finished video comes back to the iPhone. Nothing passes through a cloud server.
The pairing guide covers the first connection in detail.
Bring a photo to life
Open a picture in the Gallery and tap Animate this photo. OGAM writes a starting line, "The scene comes to life with gentle, natural motion", which you can change. Then tap Animate. Wan 2.2 Turbo starts from your picture on the iPhone itself.
Turn one sentence into a short film
A clip is one shot. OGAM can also plan a short film: write the story in one sentence, read the shots it suggests, and render them as one film with narration. Download a voice in Models first if you want a narrator.
On iPhone, a film renders with OGAM open and the screen on. Choose Tonight, keep the iPhone open and charging, and it renders while you sleep. Or send the film to your computer.
