I Built My First Python Student Evaluation Program — What Would You Improve?
I’ve recently been learning Python, and I built a small student evaluation program as a practical exercise to apply the concepts I’ve learned so far.
The program:
Calculates the average of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry marks.
Evaluates academic performance using if, elif, and else.
Evaluates attendance independently from academic performance.
Displays the evaluation criteria used by the program.
Uses round() to display the calculated average to two decimal places.
One design decision I made deliberately was to keep academic performance and attendance as two independent decision systems.
For example, a student could have excellent marks but poor attendance. Combining both into one condition could produce an output that doesn't accurately represent either dimension.
This project helped me understand that writing Python isn't only about getting the syntax right. The logic behind the conditions and whether the output accurately represents the situation are equally important.
I'm sharing the project because I'd like to learn from more experienced Python developers.
What would you improve in this program?
I'm particularly interested in feedback on:
The overall program structure
The conditional logic
Readability
What I should learn next to improve this project

This is still a beginner project, but I'm looking forward to improving it step by step as I learn more Python.
